The advisory board for PeaceMark is being expanded. Our goal is to include a diverse group of individuals who represent a wide variety of background and share our belief that "Peace is Possible". Currently our board includes:
- Hank Kraus is founder and Director of PeaceMark. He became interested in the peace process after a trip to Israel in 1997 and committed to it after the tragedy of September 11, 2001. He is a Christian who struggles to meet the expectation of his Teacher but is committed to try. He can be contacted at hkraus@moosacreek.com.
- Nader Elbanna is a successful businessman who emigrated from Jordan to the United States in 1990. He was born in Palestine and then at a young age was exiled with his family to refugee camp in Jordan. He graduated from the Jordanian Royal Military College and served as an officer in the Jordanian Army. Nader is committed to a just, peaceful, and lasting solution between the Palestinians and Israelis. He is active in Palestinian/Jewish dialog for peace, Rotary Club and various Islamic organizations. - Miko Peled is a professional martial arts instructor who grew up in West Jerusalem and now lives with his wife Gila and children in San Diego, California. He has been very active in Israeli/Palestinian dialog; first in Israeli and now in California. His father was General Matti Peled who originally served in the Hagganah and the IDF and later became and active in the peace process. His sister Nurit lost her daughter Smadar Elhanan, 13 in a suicide bombing in Jerusalem in 1997. She and her husband Rami Elhanan are now active with the Israeli-Palestinian Bereaved Families Forum for peace. Miko is very active in Coronado Rotary club and can be contacted at MIKOPELED@aol.com.
- Bishop Samir H. Kafity is the retired Bishop of the Jerusalem Diocese and is an honored advisor for PeaceMark. Bishop Kafity received his BA in 1957 from American University of Beirut. He was ordained a priest in 1957 and a Bishop in 1982. He was twelfth Diocesan Bishop in Jerusalem and the Middle East from 1984-1998 and President Bishop and Primate to Jerusalem and the Middle East from 1986-1997. - Su Kraus is a Christian and mother of four. She believes that all children deserve to grow up in a safe, peaceful and hopeful environment. As a Christian she feels obligated to work for peace and justice in Israel/Palestine. She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Warwick University, UK, in 1978. - Roger Ingraham is a Christian and is committed to the notion that "Peace is Possible" in Israel/Palestine. He is inspired by the many groups and individuals who are working daily to achieve that end. He has a B.A. in Geography/Anthropology from California State University at Northridge, and a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.
